Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García, representing Illinois’s 4th district, is in his first term in the House of Representatives, where he serves on the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. Last year, Rep. García co-sponsored the Vision Zero Act of 2019, which would provide federal funding to help local communities develop and carry out Vision Zero plans and improvements. Rep. García co-founded the Future of Transportation Caucus in the House which aims to promote equity, access, and sustainability and has been a leading voice advancing equitable transit-oriented development, transit-parity, and challenges to status quo transportation policies. He holds a Masters in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
